Horoscope Traits of the Bull Star Sign

The Taurus Characteristics in Astrology

Taurus, the Bull, is the second Zodiac sign in the horoscope. Taurus belongs to the element earth and the fixed quality. The Taurus Zodiac sign is that of the settler, who cultivates the earth and ensures everyone’s livelihood. The peasant of old, the worker who carries society on his shoulders. Taurus has trust in what’s palpable.

Taurus, the Bull, is the second sign of the Zodiac. The sun enters Taurus on or around April 20. Taurus belongs to the element earth, its quality is fixed and its charge is negative. Its Ruler is Venus, and the moon exalts in it. Taurus’ motto is: “I have.”

In the horoscope chart, Taurus brings a slow stubbornness and a materialistic perspective to planets or Houses therein.

Taurus the Settler

The Taurus Zodiac sign in the horoscope is conservative and stubborn, doubting there’s much good in novelties or change. We know what we have, but not what we get. That’s from a firm understanding about the basics of life, such as the farmer experiences. We sow and we reap, we are born and we die, winter is followed by spring and summer by autumn. These things remain the same, and man does best to faithfully adapt to them. That’s the base of the Taurus horoscope.

The Taurus horoscope trait is to observe and respect what the hands can touch, while the rest is more or less something of the imagination and should be dealt with accordingly. So, the Taurus Zodiac sign makes it a point to be slow to adapt to new things, whether they be inventions or emotions. But when finally a change is adapted, that will be the norm forever on.

The archetype of the Taurus Zodiac sign in the horoscope is the farmer, making use of the soil and remaining close to nature. But cultivating it and feeding of it, not just passively marvelling at its beauty. According to Taurus, beauty is something of the imagination.

Feelings, on the other hand, are alive in the Taurus horoscope, although they can also be said to stem from the imagination. But they are felt, as clearly as if belonging to the senses, so Taurus can indulge in them – be it cautiously at first. By time, they can grow to passion. Taurus has no objection to experiencing what it is to be alive.

Those with Taurus as their horoscope Zodiac sign are born with the sun in it, between April 20 and May 21. For much more about the Taurus Zodiac sign influence in the horoscope, see the links in the menu to the left and below.

Taurus Horoscope Traits

The Taurus Zodiac sign, starting when spring makes everything in nature sprout, is the horoscope sign of the down-to-earth settler, with the traits of one who takes care of the land and everything on it. The practical mind, doubting everything that’s not palpable. It doesn’t have to be farming or handicraft, but those types of occupations fit the Taurus Zodiac sign very well.

Taurus Star Sign

Those who have Taurus as their star sign are born when the sun was in Taurus, normally April 20 – May 20 (it differs slightly from year to year, because of the leap years). Therefore, it is also – more accurately – called the sun sign.

The sun in your horoscope is your natural self – what you are when you relax, when other planets in your horoscope are not active. It’s your basic drive, a character more or less evident in all you do and all you are.

The sun is the most important point in your horoscope chart, but it’s not the only thing describing your personality. You need to look at all the components of your birth chart, to get a complete astrological description of yourself. But here you find what can be said in general about the Taurus Horoscope Traits, based only on the sun’s position.

To Taurus It Has to Be Palpable

If your star sign is Taurus, you are usually quite relaxed, sort of laid-back even when involved in something. It’s natural for Taurus to be slow, calm, and conservative in the sense of being reluctant to change.

The natural habitat for Taurus is working the soil, farming and handicrafts. Taurus is the sign of materialism, things concrete and solid. So, Taurus prefers to be concrete and work on things that are palpable and lead to just as palpable results. The abstract is nothing that attracts Taurus, nor are plans set so far into the future that they are mere dreams in the present. Here and now is where Taurus wants to be.

It’s natural for Taurus to be conservative and prefer the well known to something of which little can be said for certain. Change makes Taurus hesitant, even if it is likely to be an improvement. For Taurus to go for it, there should be guarantees.

Taurus’ hesitation regarding alterations is no surprise, considering how skilled Taurus is at making the best use of what is already at hand. By time, Taurus can do wonders with what Taurus is familiar with. And Taurus has the patience to complete any task, no matter how tedious it may be.

Actually, Taurus not only endures routine, but loves it.

Three Different Taurus

A Zodiac sign doesn’t give exactly the same influence all through its 30°. Its first third has something of a cardinal quality, whatever the quality of the sign as a whole is, its second third is slightly more fixed in quality, and the last third is more mutable.

If you were born at the end of April, the sun is in the beginning of Taurus. That means you are very handy and have a need to do things, make use of your ability, and strive hard for prosperity.

If you were born in the beginning of May, the sun is in the middle of Taurus. Then you’re very patient, indeed, preferring a slow tempo with most things, and you’re quite easy to please. Your demands are modest – but firm. This part of the sign is fixed, as is the quality of the Taurus Zodiac sign. Therefore, people born with their sun here are the most typical Taurus, showing the traits of the sign clearly.

If you were born in the middle of May, the sun is at the end of Taurus. It means you can be a bit clumsy, to your own surprise, and tend to get impatient when things are more difficult than you expected. You’re not as handy as you believe. Although you like things as they are, you still tend to strive for some change.

Taurus’ Father in the Horoscope

The sun in the horoscope also represents your father (the mother is represented by the moon). That means your Taurus traits reveal something about the characteristics of your relationship with your father.

If you have the sun in Taurus, your relation to your father is what it is, through time. You trust each other and can spend time together without needing to do anything, not even talking. You have a sense of knowing each other well, although you don’t talk much. Mostly you get along, but if there is a grudge it can remain for long.

Taurus Compatibility

The Taurus Zodiac sign, which is that of the steady settler, belongs to the element earth, which is that of material things and the handling of them. So do Virgo and Capricorn, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Taurus is particularly compatible with them – they might be quite unattracted to one another. Nor for that matter is the Taurus Zodiac sign always incompatible with, say, the air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.
